FAITHFULL THE BRAND “RIVERA MIDI DRESS” from ANTHROPOLOGIE | FILM PHOTOS BY ANA WOODS PHOTOGRAPHY

I always say that my favorite day of the year is the first day in the Spring when the temperature reaches 50 degrees after a cold Iowa winter. That day just happened to be yesterday and it was definitely the ideal Monday. Any other time, 50 degrees would feel chilly but after an ice storm, 50 degrees feels like you’re on a tropical vacation about to walk away with a nice tan. Another positive sentiment from yesterday was the quote on my kombucha bottle, “positive thoughts will bring positive results.”  There’s nothing quite like some warmth and uplifting words to put a pep in your step and get you in the right headspace for the week. So here’s to putting on your best Spring clothing, basking in the sunshine and having a big ol’ smile on your face  (holding your favorite chicken of course!).

Hello lovelies! Today is Sunday, aka the perfect day to reflect on the previous week and get centered for the week to come. Looking back over the past seven days I can’t help but smile thinking about the adventures and new experiences I had. Some highlights include, walking the High-Line, shopping through SOHO and packaging a PR box for Selena Gomez at LoveShack (!!!!!!!). But my #1 highlight of the week was definitely walking through Williamsburg with my friend Madeleine.

I had been hearing so much about this little boutiquey area and the second I saw the pink Williamsburg bridge I knew I would fall in love. This area of Brooklyn is packed full of cute little shops and restaurants selling everything from antiques to gourmet chocolates. Williamsburg is also home to the dainty and fair-trade jewelry company, Catbird. One day was not enough to see all that the neighborhood has to offer!

Since, it has been a rather warm January in NYC I only needed a light jacket to keep me warm. I paired my favorite artist’s jacket from Anthropologie with a pair of overalls and a neutral long sleeve. To top it off I wore my rose colored sunnies, little did I know that they would match so well with the bridge! Of course I wore a pair of comfy boots, my new staple in the city (you walk everywhere here!).

The stops included:

Pink Olive:  An adorable gifting store full of cards, candles and all sorts of knick knacks.

Sweatshop: They made hot cocoa look like the most beautiful latte I have ever seen.

Loosie’s Kitchen: We didn’t go in but the mural outside made for some really beautiful photos. Also, parts of  ‘How to be Single’ were filmed in this area!

Bedford Cheese Shop: By the end of our adventure we were exhausted and starving! We grabbed a bite to eat here and it really hit the spot. I got the soup (chorizo, bean & kale) and Madeleine got the Arthur Ave sandwich. YUM!

Much love, Abigail

So I skipped the only holiday party I had on my calendar this weekend to go shoot a wedding with my sister in Cedar Falls. But there’s no shame in throwing a private party right? We arrived in Cedar Falls the night before the wedding and instead of a big party my sister and I got a hotel, ordered room service and watched Christmas movies all night long (definitely my type of party). The next morning we woke up an hour early to scout some locations and shoot this holiday party ensemble.

Top: Anthropologie  Skirt: Anthropologie  Boots: Free People SOLD OUT (similar here)  Cardigan: Target

First off, everyone needs this skirt. Yep. Go buy it.

Second, everyone needs this shirt. You won’t regret it.p

This skirt has been my go-to piece in my closet since the day I bought it. I have found that it is so easy to dress up, dress down, and trust me, it always makes a statement. For this outfit I wanted to mix a kinfolky vibe with the classic holiday metallic while using pieces that can easily be transitioned into an everyday wardrobe. After the holidays, pair this skirt with a graphic tee and sneakers and pair the top with a some high-waisted denim and booties.

All of my holiday cheer,

Abigail Faith
