Happy Valentines Day… aka “Me, myself and I-lentines Day!”

Being single on Valentines Day isn’t that bad when you decide to date yourself. So this year I bought myself two dozen roses (which will soon become gifts for all of my single friends) and am going to take a long bath, eat some chocolate (that my sister got from her boyfriend…of course) and snuggle with my puppies (the best boyfriends around). Sounds like a great day to me!

On this snowy day I chose to bundle up in a red, on red…on red Valentines ensemble. Featuring my favorite neutral, cheetah print (it seriously goes with EVERYTHING). No need for crazy prints to make a statement. Keep it simple and classy and you are sure to get your lover’s attention!

As always a special thank you to the ever so talented Ana Leigh (my sissy) for the lovely photos. You rock my socks off! Check her out at analeighphotography.com

Thanks for stopping by! Peace and love, Abigail

Welcome to my office/childhood room/favorite place to get inspired at home. Throughout my years in this room I have stocked it full of knick knacks and things that motivate me. The list includes, books, journals, shoes, magazines, artwork, a flamingo stuffed animal (my spirit animal) and a huge pile of “important” things that I threw in my closet because the photos just looked messy. My family thinks that I have hoarding tendencies and sometimes I have to agree but I also have tendencies to notice the little beauties in life and gain some inspiration from them. That is why I love to plan in this room, everywhere I look there is something that gets my imagination going, whether it is a picture from when I was young that reminds me to dream big or an article in a magazine about crazy awesome role models. Man, I miss this place when I am at school but I am working on finding an escape here in Ames. Stay tuned to see what I find!

OH, and about the outfit! Sometimes all you need is a classic black and white ensemble. Fashion choices can really help contradict your mood. If your mind is all over the place, try a minimalist style to calm yourself down. Clothing is magical like that.

Thanks for stopping by! Peace and love, Abigail

2016. A year to conquer and a year of #N E W

Last week marked the start of a #N E W semester. With syllabus week in the books I am overflowing with joy about my classes. I cannot wait to perfect my sewing and illustration skills. Between my classes I am also commuting to a #N E W job with Anthropologie. I am shocked at all I have learned and all of the #N E W friends I have made in just one short week with this company. Commuting to Des Moines means I have a #N E W living situation. My sister will soon become my roommate and we will be living in our #N E W little farmhouse. #N E W hair may be one of my favorite changes. I have been a blonde my whole life but now that I am brunette I am not sure I’ll be going back. Finally 2016 is the year for a #N E W and improved abigail & such. This year I will be posting more frequently about my style choices as well as the inspiration behind them. I will be giving you a closer look inside my mind. Stay tuned to see my inspiration behind this post on the #I N S P I R A T I O N page.

Thanks or stopping by! Peace and love, Abigail.

An easy way to make a simple maxi dress more exciting is to add head scarf. I just got a scrap of fabric and tied it on like a headband. It’s as easy as that!
